Why Magic?

Magic is built around social dancing rather than just a packed workshop schedule. The combination of afternoon socials, long night parties and multiple dance floors gives dancers plenty of time to actually enjoy the music, meet people and dance throughout the weekend.

Its more personal atmosphere also makes it easier to connect with other dancers and artists than at some of the very large European congresses.

With the main festival venue right in the city centre, it’s also easy to step outside the festival bubble and enjoy Ljubljana’s cafés, restaurants and old town between activities.

Magic Slovenian Salsa Festival 2027 in Ljubljana

Magic Slovenian Salsa Festival 2027 takes place in Ljubljana, Slovenia, from 14–17 January 2027.

For dancers searching for a salsa festival in Slovenia, a mambo festival in Europe, a bachata event in Ljubljana, or a mixed salsa and bachata festival in Central Europe, MSSF offers an international weekend of dancing, workshops, DJs and social events.

As a January dance festival in Central Europe, Magic is also a strong option for dancers planning a winter dance trip at the start of the year.

Ljubljana is well placed for dancers travelling from Austria, Croatia, Italy, Hungary and other parts of Central and Southern Europe, while the compact city-centre location makes it easy to combine the festival with a short stay in the Slovenian capital.
